 In 2000, Aferin Abbasova enrolled in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology at Baku State University, specializing in Psychology, and graduated with honors in 2004. In the same year, she entered the masters program in Social Psychology at the Department of Psychology, Baku State University, and completed it with honors in 2006. She then joined the postgraduate (PhD) program in Social Psychology at the same department in 2006.

   Since 2007, she has worked as an hourly-paid instructor at the Department of Psychology. In 2013, she began working as a lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Law at Western Caspian University. In 2017, she successfully defended her dissertation on the topic “Socio-psychological Features of Political Trust in the Modern Era” and was awarded the academic degree of PhD in Psychology.

   Between 2020 and 2022, she served as the head of the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Sociology at Western Caspian University. Since 2024, she has held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Psychology.

  Aferin Abbasova has presented scientific papers at various international and national conferences. She is a co-author of two methodological manuals, the author of fourteen curricula, and has published twenty-six scientific articles and theses. She has supervised nearly twenty-five masters dissertations.
