Master’s in Public Administration students gain a better understanding of organisations and operations in the public sector, as well as specialised knowledge and skills necessary for career development. The course is designed for managers, administrative officers, front-line service providers, policy analysts and those preparing for employment and advancement in government or municipality, social service agencies and other public or non-profit organisations. Students are equipped with in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical skills in political science, economics and management. Students study the concepts and ideas of public administration, public policy and public management.

The course focuses on critical examination of the evolution of management philosophies through time and assesses the impact of managerial reforms by using a comparative case study approach. Students learn about the performance of public organisations and customer orientation and how they prepare to meet the demands of citizens and other stakeholders with competing interests in a context of fragmented authority.

Upon successfully completing the programme, graduates pursue careers in governmental organisations, embassies, ministries, NGOs, law, business and international organisations.
