Scientific and practical visit of bachelors and masters of Western Caspian University to the Khilli Fish Breeding Plant
Lecturers of the Department of Natural Sciences, Ph.D. Mahmud Humbatov and Konul Ahmadova, and a group of bachelors and masters studying in the field of Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture of the School of High Technologies and Innovative Engineering visited the Khilli Fish Breeding Plant located in Neftchala district on a scientific and practical excursion.
The main goal was to strengthen the students' theoretical knowledge in the field of fisheries with practical knowledge, to ensure that they were closely acquainted with modern technologies and production processes applied in aquaculture.
Within the framework of the visit, the participants comprehensively studied the field of activity of the enterprise with the participation of the plant's specialists and observed the artificial breeding of fish species belonging to the sturgeon family (regional sturgeon, Kuril sturgeon, longnose sturgeon, etc.), their keeping conditions at different stages of ontogenesis, and the processes of feeding. The students also got acquainted with the biotechnological processes carried out in special workshops where live feeds such as daphnia, artemia and oligochaetes are grown.
During the excursion, educational lectures and live demonstrations organized by the plant specialists aroused great interest among the students and made a significant contribution to the development of their practical skills
