Adilagha Malikov was born on November 16, 1956 in Jalilabad, Azerbaijan. In 1964, he entered Nizami Secondary School No. 1 in Jalilabad, graduating in 1974. After graduating from the Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) Forestry Technical Academy in 1974-1979, he worked at the State Forestry Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan until 1981, the Ministry of Forestry from 1981-1989, the "Azerbmesha" Production Association from 1989-2001, and from December 13, 2001 to June 19, 2014, in the Forest Development Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources in various positions (forester, chief forester, director, chief consultant), and from June 19, 2014, he was transferred to "Azeryashlandshaft" OJSC. Until February 2021, he worked as the head of the staff at "Azerlandshaft" OJSC, and from February to November, he was the head of the greening and landscape design department. In 2021, he was awarded the "Progress" medal by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his services in greening the city of Baku and surrounding areas.
He has been working as a teacher at the Department of "Natural Sciences" of Western Caspian University since September 2022. He currently continues his teaching activities at the Department of "Ecology and Environment" of the same university.
