Maleyka Alizada was born in the city of Ganja, where she also completed her secondary education. She graduated from the Faculty of History at Baku State University (BSU). She was a doctoral candidate at BSU’s Faculty of History and successfully defended her dissertation titled "Sources for Studying the Genocide Against the Turkic-Muslim Population in 1918–1920."

She has worked at the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University as a lecturer, senior lecturer, and head of department. She also served as the Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Shamkir and held the positions of Deputy Head of Shamkir District Executive Authority for Humanitarian Affairs and Head of the Public and Political Department.

Since 2024, she has been the Head of the Department of History and a lecturer at the School of Political and Social Sciences at Western Caspian University.

She is the author of 46 scientific articles and 11 methodological guidelines and syllabi. She has presented at both international and national conferences, and her articles have been published in scientific journals in Azerbaijan and abroad. In 2022, she organized the "Shusha" panel with the participation of nine Azerbaijani scholars at the 6th Turkology Congress held at the University of Warsaw, Poland.

Maleyka Alizada is also a public figure. She has led 48 international and local projects and participated in 8 exchange programs. She acts as a national advisor in international projects. She is the author of 4 policy papers, 3 manuals, and 3 research studies.
