Rauf Mammadov was born on February 6, 1968, in the city of Ganja.
From 1984 to 1991, he studied at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Turkology, at Baku State University. In 1991, he received a degree as a teacher of Turkish-Azerbaijani language and literature (Turkologist). From 1996 to 2000, he pursued doctoral studies at the Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and defended his dissertation on “Philosophical Aspects of Zoroastrianism,” earning the degree of Candidate of Philosophical Sciences (PhD in Philosophy).
In 2018, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor by the Higher Attestation Commission. In 2019, he received the title of Associate Professor in the specialty of the History of Philosophy.
He has worked in the field of higher education and academic research for over 30 years. During this time, he has contributed to the development of academic knowledge and student thinking through both pedagogical and research activities. His main areas of research include philosophy of religion, gender theories, and the philosophical-ideological aspects of the Zoroastrian heritage. As a result of his research in these and related areas, he has authored 5 books and nearly 200 scientific and publicistic articles. He has participated in more than 20 international conferences, and 22 of his articles have been published abroad.
Throughout his teaching career, in addition to delivering a variety of specialized courses, he has emphasized the development of students’ critical thinking skills, philosophical mindset, and moral-ethical worldview.
Since 2021, he has been working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy, Western Caspian University.
