Education and Professional Background:
Saltanat Arshad gizi Aghayeva was born on January 1, 1972, in the Gubadli region of Azerbaijan. She received her undergraduate education at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University between 1989 and 1994. From 2007 to 2010, she pursued her doctoral studies at the Institute of Physiology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).
In 2012, she defended her dissertation titled "The effect of electromagnetic waves on the activity of the monoaminergic system in brain structures" and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biology.
From 2007 to 2016, Dr. Aghayeva worked as a research scientist at the Institute of Physiology of ANAS. Between 2016 and 2024, she served as a leading researcher at the Department of Biochemical Genetics and Genomics at the Institute of Genetic Resources. Concurrently, from 2003 to 2021, she held the position of senior lecturer at the Department of Teaching Methodology of Natural Sciences at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical College under the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, as well as at the Guba branch of the university. Since 2019, she has been serving as lecturer at the Department of Natural Sciences of Western Caspian University.
From April to October 2022, she held the position of Head of the Life Sciences Department at Khazar University.
By the decision of the Supreme Attestation Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, she was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in the field of Biology, specializing in Genetics.
Currently, Dr. Aghayeva is an Associate Professor at the Department of Natural Sciences of the School of High Technologies and Innovative Engineering at Western Caspian University. She is the author of 1 textbook, more than 80 scientific articles, and several subject curricula.
