The Masters curriculum in “History of the Peoples of the Caucasus” includes both core and elective courses such as, “Culture of the Peoples of the Caucasus (From Ancient Times to the Present)”, “The Caucasus under Contemporary Challenges and New Threats”, “Numismatics of the Peoples of the Caucasus”, “Ethnography of the Peoples of the Caucasus”, “The Role of Ilham Aliyev in the Implementation of Transnational Projects in the Caucasus Region”, “The Peoples of the Caucasus during the Renaissance Period (9th–12th centuries)”,

and “The Socio-Political Situation of the Peoples of the Caucasus in 1917–1920”.

Main Objective:

The primary objectives of the Masters degree in History of the Peoples of the Caucasus are as follows:

  • To conduct scholarly analysis of the historical heritage of the region;
  • To study the historical development of the Caucasian peoples from ancient times to the present in a comprehensive and objective manner;
  • To explore the formation of national and regional identities;
