Chair of Ecology

The Department of Ecology and Environment of the Western Caspian University offers training in the bachelors degree programs in the specialties of "Ecology" and "Forestry" and the masters degree programs in the specialties of "Environmental Protection in Agriculture" and "Bioecology". The department has a staff of 13 teachers and professors, including 1 Doctor of Science and 4 Doctors of Philosophy.

The teaching process in the "Ecology" specialty includes extensive materials on the initial characteristics of the main components of the environment and their reactions to climate change and anthropogenic impacts, while the "Forestry" specialty includes materials covering issues such as the protection, restoration and use of forest landscapes.

Masters degree specializations teach materials covering issues such as ensuring food security in the country, efficient use of agricultural land, and protecting biodiversity.

The department uses the green areas of the greening department No. 2 of “Azeryashlandshaft” OJSC and the laboratories of the Water and Melioration Research Institute as a base of experience in these specialties. Along with the educational process, the department also conducts scientific research on the topic “Features of the creation of chestnut-leaved oak plantations in Azerbaijan”. Employees of the department with high scientific potential and extensive production experience participate in the educational processes and scientific research.
